2024 is proving to be especially busy year for carbon black conferences. In May, the Carbon Black World conference was held in Vienna, while June saw the European Carbon Black Summit in Amsterdam. Now as we approach fall there are five conferences coming up that may be of interest to those involved in the carbon black and related industries:
Recovered Carbon Black Asia 2024 will be held in Qingdao, China from September 24-25. This Smithers-sponsored event will focus on the rapidly growing recovered carbon black industry in Asia.
Carbon Black 2024: Perspectives in Asia Pacific will be held October 21-23 in Kolkata, India. This is a terrific conference that focuses on the Asian market for carbon black. First held in 1993, it is usually held every other year, but the most recent meeting was in Bangkok in 2019 due to pandemic-related disruptions and travel restrictions. Now it is to be held in Kolkata, hosted by Himadri Specialty Chemical.
The International Tar Association is having its Annual Conference in Osaka, Japan from October 27 to 29. While not directly focused on carbon black, the ITA Annual Conference addresses feedstock-related topics including coal tar and coal tar pitch, as well as naphthalene, coke, steel, and aluminum. It's always a great conference.
Recovered Carbon Black Europe will be held November 5-6 in Amsterdam. This Smithers meeting is the tandem event to the Asian rCB conference, with a focus on the European market for rCB.
Finally, the China Carbon Black 2024 conference will be held in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China on November 12-15, 2024. More details on this meeting as they are announced.
